Yippee-aye-yeah! The Spurs are Flying.
DFL Races Heap Up with More Dirt.
Just about all the major non-endorsed candidates for the Minnesota DFL primaries have now been tainted with some sort of allegations. In our previous writing, we didn’t bring in the Swanson political intra-office activities allegations but they had cropped up.
Now, we’re hit with some pretty serious allegations against the Attorney General candidate Mr. Ellison. The question is whether he was credibly accused of domestic abuse?
That leaves the non-endorsed candidates classified as less than top drawer. Hypothetically should these prevail in the primary that could lead to voter suspicions of the whole DFL lot. Yet, this possibility is a golden opportunity for Ms. Murphy to demonstrate leadership and take control of the party scenario saving her own hide in the process.
We believe she might easily lose to Mr. Walz if she fails to gain voter attention today.
There is no time left for her. She must step up to the plate. In this case the forefront.
Her approach likens to the commander in the field. She steps up to take the leadership of the DFL party by coming out with a carefully crafted statement saying that the DFL party process works and that the endorsed candidates (which incidentally includes herself) have come through shining clean and that the democrat voters can be confident voting for the endorsed ticket. The party can prevail in the general with the primary voters casting their ballots for the endorsed candidates (including herself and Mr. Pelikan for AG). If the non-endorsed candidates win, this could cast a pall over the entire DFL field and she as the DFL leader and Governor-elect does not want this to happen.
What more will this pre-primary day bring?
