We Agree…back to the future with primaries for all.
Governor Dayton has joined the hue and cry to stop the caucus voting and go back to primaries. We believe it was an embarrassment for the DFLers that the Bernie-boppers mopped the floors with Hillary. Tsk, tsk! Not nice to do in the establishment’s most established and anointed candidate. You can’t trust these activist groups as they don’t represent the real Minnesota. Now, you young boys and especially girls who disregarded the genderfication requirement need to say you’re sorry and that you won’t do it again in the general election.
The Minnesota Republicans, on the other hand, almost had civil and even respectful voting that pleased the powers to be. Maybe the Bernie-boppers ought to take lessons from the younger Republican crowd who demonstrated restraint and intelligence in their voting.
We agree that there should be real primaries for all elective offices in Minnesota. We mean true primaries. We call on the Governor to be true to his word and renounce any scheme that manipulates voting. Here we mean ranked-choice voting. Governor, are you up to it? Do a Donald and say that you do not support ranked-choice voting since it virtually means one-party dominance of an election. That party of course being his own DFL. You are the Governor of all the people aren’t you? If a business had the same monopolistic rights as the DFL Party is guaranteed in St. Paul and Minneapolis by ranked-choice voting, there would be screams of protest and demands for anti-trust prosecution.
Here, Governor, is your chance to stand tall and demonstrate your intrinsic character. Yes, we want real, true primaries in Minnesota.
