Like it or not, one has to evaluate the behavior and actions of Senator Sanders topped off by his soft interview Thursday November 10, 2016 on CNN. We regretfully came to the conclusion that he will not stand up there and tell his supporters of the liberal, progressive, socialistic movement to man up and knock off the protesting.
A genuine movement will operate within the boundaries of generally accepted political norms. He avoided and missed the opportunity in that CNN interview to show real leadership by not asking his followers to rein in their protests and concentrate on building a progressive future.
He sold out to the Clinton-controlled Democratic Party. Honesty was his theme. Honesty in the Clinton camp? Give us a break. Conversely, the “Never Trumpateers” mostly stuck to their guns. It is appropriate for them to at least grudgingly congratulate the winner after the election.
That brings us to the followers. Running amuck in despair is a little immature. Colleges and lower schools enhancing this behavior are even more ridiculous. Go to class, do your homework, take your tests. We’re not much for handouts but in this case we believe that schools who subscribe to this philosophy should provide free diapers for their students. Also they should offer a free repeat of PoliSci 101.
A key factor that these progressives miss is the nature of the beast. The electorate, simply put, is composed of people and people break down to individual persons. All being equal. We may be thought of as body, mind, spirit and soul. That may in some cases conflict with the concept of a socialistic paradise where everything is handed to you free. Have these “Bernie Boppers” ever heard of Abraham Maslow and the hierarchy of needs? Is there any understanding of the concept of self-actualization?
Human beings may function best when they achieve through their own efforts. If that is a truism, then progressivism may well be seriously flawed.
Sorry, Bernie. We had hoped for the better but just maybe you ought to reset your compass.
