National Dems throw him under the Wellstone bus.
Orchestrated move negates Minnesota voters.
Hypocrisy at work… can he redeem himself?
Al was expendable and fell into the Get Trump At Any Cost trap. This is no accident as the timing worked out for the December 12 Alabama special election. With Al out the Dems will try to claim the high ground and set themselves up to vanquish Moore if he wins.
Our purpose is not to hit someone when they’re down. There are other lessons here than the ostensible sexual harassment. The plan was crafted by the Dem leadership which might be thought of as controlled by the northeastern liberal elitist establishment. Senator Hillary Gillibrand was given the duty to pull the trigger. Poor Al!
When this first started a few weeks back, yours truly wrote to a friend that the Senator had expanded the Congressional franking privilege to additional free male privileges. To accuse a member of misconduct is a little odd when-by definition-Democrats are known for having their hands in other peoples’ pockets. Talk about inappropriate touching!
The issues go beyond that. When Al first went to Washington, he threw in with the national liberal establishment. That meant ironclad Democrat discipline. You vote as the leadership tells you. Deviate and you’ll be out the next election. So it’s very difficult for Senators to truly represent the interests of their constituency lip service to the contrary. But, the national scene changed with the Alabama election and it was expedient for the Democrat establishment to throw Al out. It served a higher Democrat purpose. Al was expendable. I think there was a John Wayne movie “They Were Expendable”. I don’t think Mr. Wayne would have approved the way Senator Al expendabled himself.
In his defiant speech on the Senate floor, Senator Al attempted to excoriate Messrs. Trump and Moore. He also claimed the accusations were false or different from what he remembers. If things weren’t as bad as they seem, then perhaps the matter should have gone on to the Ethics Committee and the Senator should have indicated a resignation was not in order. That would buck the system and defy the establishment. Tough to do.
Let’s examine the differences between Mr. Trump’s and Mr. Franken’s fighting spirits. Mr. Trump took on the Republican establishment, the Democrat establishment, the Washington establishment, the media establishment and any others that might exist. Mr. Franken capitulated to the Democrat elitist liberal establishment. He ended up receiving the crowning insult from a Fox program hostess; she called him a wimp…
The National Democrats are sacrificing him as a political tool to try to influence another state’s election and for future gain outside Minnesota. Talk about Russia meddling; what about the National Democrat establishment voiding a legitimate Minnesota Senate election? Minnesotans elected the Senator for a six-year term. Forcing him out negates Minnesota voter rights. Is this going to be a pattern nationwide for political establishments to toy with political subdivision election terms?
The Senator-yes-can redeem himself. He can stand up, show some fortitude and tell Senator Hillary and Chuckie boy to go to hell. That he is going to stay on and represent Minnesota voters in Minnesota’s best interests. That would earn him new respect and virtually assure his re-election.
